What you need to know
When: any time between FERUARY 14 and FEBRUARY 21, 2021
Why: for Lenny - read his story below
What: A virtual 5k can be done anywhere - your neighborhood, a forest, a mountain. There's no travel, no waiting in lines, and no jostling at the starting line. You can do your 5k (3.1 miles) with anyone you like, at your own pace, and on your own time from February 14 to February 21. Run, walk, bike, swim, even ski - it's up to you!
T-Shirts: When registering, you can order a custom-made Love for Lenny Tee. Just tell us your size and address, and we'll take care of the rest!
Prizes: Awards will be for fastest time, oldest runner, youngest runner, best selfie, biggest group, best group photo, and cutest costume for two- and four-legged participants! Lenny's Story
Hi! It's me, Lenny! I am a Great Pyrenees/rough coated collie/maybe part husky - I just don't know ! I am so thankful that GPPR saved me from a lot of pain and sadness, because I had been shot in the face and left to roam for months.
GPPR fixed my eye by having a surgeon remove it, and they removed some of the buckshot as well, and I felt so much better. The rescue sent me to this great place called Oregon, where I live in a wonderful foster home that is taking care of me.
For now, my jaw is unable to open properly, and it hurts to chew, so I am getting ready for another round of surgeries to fix my jaw.
And I need your help! I have been told that my next round of specialist vet bills will be almost $10,000! I need a special CT scan to see all of the damage in my jaw, and then I will have a very special dental surgeon work on fixing everything.
I really appreciate anything you can give, big or small, so I can be pain-free again! I can't wait to get to chew on bones and toys again!
